(ESSER) Fund Planning Survey for School Staff, Parents, & Community Stakeholders

Data shows that the pandemic has had a significant impact on student learning, both across the country and in Columbus ISD.

Columbus ISD is launching a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process to help determine how it should potentially spend additional federal dollars to address unfinished learning and COVID-19 recovery.

The American Rescue Plan signed into law in March by President Joe Biden included $122 billion in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds for school districts across the country, which is the single largest investment in federal elementary and secondary education in the nation’s history. Columbus ISD will be applying to receive some of that additional funding.

Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback. Survey Deadline: June 18, 2021

Senior Scholarship & Academic Awards Ceremony Rescheduled

Due to a scheduling conflict, the administration at CHS has elected to move the Senior Class of 2021 Academic Awards and Scholarship Ceremony to Monday, May 24, 2021 at 6pm in the Columbus High School Auditorium. After polling the senior class and parents about the baccalaureate ceremony, and taking into account the frequency of low attendance and participation of previous graduating classes, it is decided that baccalaureate is cancelled for Sunday, May 23rd.

A Statement from Columbus ISD:

Over the weekend, Columbus ISD experienced a tragic loss. Counselors have been and will continue to be available for all students, on every campus. It is really important if you or your child is not feeling well in any way to reach out for help. If you feel that your child needs additional support, please contact a trusted teacher, counselor, or school administrator. Columbus ISD is here for you. We are all in this together, and the school staff will do whatever we can to help our students in their time of need.
